In 1956, the Sbarro family opened their first Salumeria (Italian grocery store) in Brooklyn, which was soon a neighbourhood favourite for its exceptionally fresh food and authentic Italian fare, including homemade mozzarella, imported cheese, and delicious sausage and salami.
